A child took birth in poor family. Along with the alphabet his parents taught him the knowledge of sanskrit and inculcated the good traits of the scriptures.
When the child attained the age of 5, his father took him to pandit Hardevji for admission to his school. Pandit Ji asked, "Hey child, Do you know any sanskrit verse?"
The child said, "Yes."
"Very good, recite it."
The child approached his Guruji and touched his feet. Hardevji was delighted at this. The child then bowed before his father too and started chanting verses taught to him every day by his father.
"Guruji delightfully said, "Recite any poem you have learnt."
"Yes Guruji" the child sung a poem in sweet voice that made the ambiance pleasant.
Greatly pleased at the humility and intelligence of the child, Guru Hardevji showered his blessings onto him, " you will earn long lasting reputation for your family. Your family will attain greatness by virtue of you."
Do you know who that child was? Mahatma Madan Mohan Malaviya Ji, whose reputation is shining like a bright constellation in the sky of the Indian history even today.
Whosoever salutes and respects parents and teachers is naturally blessed by them from the core of their hearts and he spontaneously develops the virtues of humility, good character, continence and good conduct. The foremost attribute of great people is their humility.
Too much effort is not required to fast fly in the sky of progress. Just two things are sufficient, one reverence for parents who are our well wishers and lead us on the divine path, and towards observance of continence and good conduct. second is obedience to the commands of Satguru, who leads us to the path of God realization.
